Incomplete Life

You never see the sun embracing the moon,
You never see the ice castles on the sand dunes.
You die hard to live a perfect life,
In the end, you never see a saint in the saloon.

You always see hope overloaded in despair,
You always see truth in someone’s dare.
You live long to die for someone else,
In the end, you always see life in a phantom’s lair.

You’re selfish, you’re charitable, a fool, and arrogant.
You are everything that others see; silent and violent.
You haven’t lived it all; neither your death so prominent.
In the end, you are a mortal seeking absolute contentment.
